Congratulations on taking another step towards developing as an ESL/EFL teaching professional. My role as your Instructional Coach is to work with you to share research-based methods to help become a more effective ESL/EFL teacher. The fee for personalized one-to-one instructional coaching session is $70.00 for 1 hour.
The Benefits of Instructional Coaching
Your coaching sessions are geared specifically to your own needs and goals so the benefits are just for you. Research suggests that ESL teachers who were coached reported that:
"I just want to say thanks again for taking the time today to talk with me. I feel much better about where I'm at. I suppose I just wasn't sure about what I was doing, but talking with you made me understand that, while I have a long way to go, I'm learning every day, and that's the main thing. You are an inspiration to me, so thanks for your advice and help". Lynn Schneider
The Instructional Coaching Process
The process of coaching generally begins with a conversation where we talk about the possibility of working together. We will talk about what the coaching sessions may look like based on your own goals to become a more effective ESL teacher. We will decide on the approach for reviewing lessons, if feedback on actual teaching is a goal (videotaped lessons can be sent). The Observational Took will be sent in advance. Reflection is a key component of developing as a teaching professional. This is an important part of the learning process.
How are the Sessions Arranged?
The wonders of technology allow us to share documents and videos as well as chat in real time. SKYPE works well in most parts of the world, so this would be a preferred way for us to communicate. My schedule is very flexible so even if we are on different continents, we will be able to find a time that is suitable for both of us.
I look forward to working with you. Patrice
